Volunteers needed

We are always looking to speak with police officers involved in a suicide-by-cop event that would be willing to share their insight with other police officers. Of particular interest to us would be those officers who have had specific training in Peer Support with their respective agencies.
All volunteer officers must be thoroughly vetted before participating in our officer support network. Initial support communication is established via email. Once contact has been established between the volunteer police officer and the OIS officer, further communication options (via phone or email) are up to the discretion of the volunteer police officer.

"If it bleeds, it leads."

It has been a long-held belief among news writers that tragedy sells newspapers. Armstrong Williams, a syndicated columnist, said it best in referring to newsrooms across the country. In referring to a familiar saying in every newsroom across the country, he said, “If it bleeds, it leads.” News media is powerful. Media influences the masses, whether it’s television, print media, online blog, or other electronic publications.
With that in mind, the media often contact us for interviews, particularly after a suicide-by-cop event or mass shooting. Media agency personnel are looking to interview police officers involved in a critical shooting event for their perspective. If you would be willing to participate, please get in touch with us with a brief synopsis of your incident. Once vetted, we will add your contact information for possible interviews.
Please note that your contact information is only provided to the media with your prior written permission. Otherwise, we will contact you directly to provide you with the name and phone number of the media person requesting the interview.
